I graduated from Stark State College's Massage Therapy program and obtained my License in Massage Therapy from the Ohio State Medical Board in 2007. Since then, I have been performing Massage Therapy mostly on an appointment only basis, traveling to clients' homes for their sessions. I also work with nursing homes, giving chair massages to assisted living residents as well as in memory care units.
Currently, I'm completing coursework toward my PTA credential (Physical Therapist Assistant). This field interests me because I love helping people heal and recover lost strength as well as improved range of motion. By combining knowledge about the soft tissues of the body from both fields, I hope to help people with a wide range of health issues. I believe everyone can benefit from massage due to its many positive effects on the human body. Massage improves the immune system; helps heal injured muscle; and helps with postural problems.
In my mind, the most rewarding aspect of Massage Therapy is following up with a client and having them tell me how good they feel; how their pain went away; or how well they slept the night after their appointment. Knowing that I can use my knowledge and my hands to help someone feel better is the most satisfying thing about massage.
As I continue to learn and grow as a professional, I hope to help more and more people realize the benefits of massage, and to be the one who helps them find relief from their pain.
